Sparta Council Approves $400,000 Federal Grant for Water System

NJ SPARTA — Sparta Township Council approves $400,000 congressional grant for water pump station. Township Manager Jim Zepp announced the award from Congressman Tom Kean's office to fund critical upgrades at the White Deer Plaza Pump Station, with the township providing a $100,000 match and two years to complete improvements to pumps, controls, generator, and electrical service. The council unanimously approved approximately $14.6 million in expenditures for December and January, adopted 18 resolutions authorizing cooperative purchasing agreements and emergency water system repairs up to $110,084.49, and approved a $61,488.25 vehicle purchase.
