Sparta Council Adopts Budget-Cap Authority Ordinance

NJ SPARTA — Sparta Council approves budget-cap ordinance and $5.9 million in monthly expenditures. The Township Council unanimously adopted Ordinance 26-01 on second and final reading, granting the municipality authority to exceed its Municipal Budget Appropriation Limits and establish a cap bank. The session also featured approval of $5,934,578.86 in February expenditures and unanimous authorization of a $75,000 grant application to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for the White Field Lake Improvements Project, including new pickleball court installation.
The Council accepted completion of the Municipal Building Sidewalk, Patio and Stair Improvements Project and authorized final payment of $86,010 to contractor Tony's Concrete Construction Co, Inc.
