NJ SPARTA — Environmental Commission plans April 25 Earth Day event, discusses data center and water concerns. The Environmental Commission approved prior minutes and coordinated logistics for a free family-friendly event at Town Hall featuring 20 exhibitors and environmental organizations, with an invitation for non-perishable food donations to the Sparta Community Food Pantry. Chair Neil Sauerwein flagged concerns about data center expansion in nearby townships, while the commission expressed concerns about a proposed water extraction facility in Andover Township that would pump 3.1 million gallons of groundwater monthly.

The Trails Committee continues work on a Sussex County grant to clear and signage a section of the Iron Horse Trail.
