NJ SPARTA — Sparta environmental commission tables native plant ordinance pending tree and MS4 review. Chair Neil Sauerwein directed the Township Engineer to provide a status update on MS4 permitting and recommendations on tree ordinance revisions before the next meeting. Members reviewed the Town Council's adoption of a 75,000 square foot building size cap for data centers in PDRM-1 and PDRM-2 zones.
The commission also requested specifications, lifecycle costs, and disposal and remediation information for artificial turf field installations, raising concerns about PFAS contamination and long-term environmental impacts.
